Well my second post for Search Engine Journal went up today. And I’ll be honest, I hold my breath each time something I write goes live. But especially so today. The topic of this post was spam. An average person may think how can this possibly make you hold your breath? Well there are all sorts of spammers, aside the ones mentioned in my post. Good and bad (yes there are good spammers, though extremely rare). If you haven’t yet click on the link above, read the article then the comments. Go ahead, I’ll wait….Back already?

So the first comment was shall we say… not so friendly? The problem when getting negative feedback is that there are two types. Those that are just ignorant like, “Man you are so wrong. This post sucks!” then there are ones like the first comment I got today, very intelligent and thought out. Now had the comment been ignorant I would have just ignored it, but it is not a smart move to ignore a comment in which effort and thought went into. I read the comment 30 times or so. Then posted my response. Had I not given the same though and consideration in my response I believe I wouldn’t have gotten a ‘toned down’ response back from the original commenter. As in my response I appreciate comments like his. It makes everyone more knowledgeable and aware because of it.

I’m not posting my picks for the week today. Simply because this week was so busy for me I didn’t get a chance to read all of them. Click on the search bar and type in ‘Megan Leap’. She’s a contributor to SEJ, and has some great insight on topics that can be complex to beginners; mobile search, ppc landing pages and social media marketing.

Currently I’m working on a piece for SEJ that will run at the end of the month. I’m contemplating topics about ‘In-House SEO’. I’ve got a few ideas roaming around, but if you have something in mind you would like to see me write about let me know.

Now, here we go about weight loss. Its going okay, I think I’m actually gaining some weight via muscle vs. losing fat which isn’t bad, but I really want to get down to 170 lbs. So I’m starting a diet on Monday. But I can’t remember what it is right now. When it comes to me I’ll let you all know.
