#FF IRL Edition – Why These Tweeps?

Well I almost didn’t do a Follow Friday post today. But I figured I’d better, have to keep pushing myself to stay consistent. When it came to picking what topic to base this Follow Friday on I found myself in quite the conundrum. I mean I just got to meet a lot of people I’ve met via Twitter locally last night at the inaugural Social Media Club of Johnson County; and this weekend I’ll be meeting up with some tweeps I haven’t met yet/have already met at BlueGlass LA. So, I thought I’d make a mix of the two and call this edition of #FF IRL Tweeps:

@AlanBleiweiss
*sigh* What do you say about a guy like Alan? He is the most intelligent, blunt, sarcastic, passionate person I’ve ever met in this industry. I first got connected with Alan on Twitter after I found out he also writes for the Search Engine Journal (plug for Alan’s articles here). A few months later just before I went to my first conference in Tampa, FL he followed me back. There have been some interesting tweets to say the least from this guy. I’ve found more resources and interesting people to follow on twitter from this great guy. But if you follow him, be ready to engage when he does you. Because he will blow your mind.

@Laurawynn
I honestly for the life of my cannot remember when, why or how I ended up following Laura (I don’t think she does either). But she has certainly been the person who has kept me up to date with all the networking events locally. Mainly because she sets up quite a few of them herself. Always on the go, connecting peers with one another, Laura is a wealth of information and very, very talented at networking. She is someone who I’ve glad to tweet with, and a person I was glad to meet IRL. But a word of caution when following her, tweets come at all hours and are pretty random. Which I guess is a good thing :) .

@SEOAware
I met Melissa aka SEOAware literally three weeks before I would meet her IRL. A true search geek, Melissa not only has some great tweets but also has the same great personality IRL as she does online. Though she is taller than I thought she would be. None the less she is a fellow geek and StarWars fanatic, but I think she has me WAY totally beat on the StarWars category (see blogroll anchor text above). Melissa is the only person that’s worn/twitpiced/dailyboothed/tweeted StarWar paraphernalia on a daily basis, she has a pretty great blog too. It doesn’t matter if you like StarWars or not, she will turn you into a true believer. Go follow her…NOW!

@ShellyKramer
After I read some of Shelly’s posts, retweeted by @Alysson, I decided to look a little closer at her account. This is one of those accounts that posts some great news sources, from a variety of locations around the net. I don’t have to follow nearly as many news account because Shelly find them all. More importantly she finds the better ones. She is as engaging and intelligent online as she is IRL, though she is shorter that I thought she would be. Shelly engages, writes fantastic blog posts and isn’t afraid to tell it like it is online or IRL. So what are you waiting for? Go follow her. Go now!

I hope you’ve all enjoyed this edition of Follow Friday. I’ll return to my carefully consistent crafty composings on Monday. Until then, thanks for reading!
