The worst pain I’ve ever experienced

If the words “testicles”, “shaved” and “balls” offends you or make you cringe, stop reading now. Seriously. There’s nothing graphic, but if you’d rather not read it feel free to bounce.

Pacey had turned three and Tara and I were talking about if we wanted another kid or not. After all we both have two younger siblings and were used to a five person family. After a few discussions at night we decided that yeah, we were done (it was also advised after Pacey that Tara shouldn’t try to have another kid). The fact we got Buster around this time in no way impacted our decisions (it totally impacted our decision).

Best Tweets Of Super Bowl XLVIII Seahawks vs Denver

So Super Bowl XLVIII, and until next year we have to wait. And like so many before there were many funny tweets that got sent out. I’ve collected several of those I found to be humorous/witty or I just liked it because I liked it. But enough of me, on to the real reason you’re here:

12 Things I did on 12/12/12 I’ll never do again

12 Things I did on 12/12/12 I’ll never do again:

1. Decided to write a list of things to do on 12/12/12 and then do them so I’m not made out to be a liar

2. I bought a 44 oz Rooster Booster energy drink from QT and chugged it in my office (I may do this one again)

3. I used Internet Explorer

4. I used Bing as my default search engine for a whole hour

5. I posted an update to Google+

6. I ate my lunch with a fork…I had soup

7. I put my headphones on the opposite ears to see if there was a difference (there was)

10 Problem Hashtags On Twitter

Problem Hashtags

Earlier tonight I saw a tweet from the always awesome excel Queen Annie Cushing that contained the hashtag “#firstworldseoproblems”. For whatever reason, perhaps my ADD, I clicked on it to see if others had used it. Much to my surprise at least one other person had. Then this got me thinking, what other problem hashtags are there that some people might not be aware of? And after some random searching, and after reading some really weird conversations *shakes head* I found ten problem hashtags I’d like to share:

A venn diagram, a mustache and bieber get inserted into a post

Meh, okay so the title is bit of a joke, but oh well. Figured I needed to update my blog for the new year and what better way then making another list of favorited tweets that’ve been collected. Enjoy.

Starting My Favorited Tweets Over Again

The other day I decided to clean out my favorite tweets on Twitter, I think there may be one I found from that day (sneak peek). It just got to be too much to try to organize and when I started favoriting tweets with the purpose of reading the article linked to at a later time (most of the time I never did) it got cluttered. So while I was going through cleaning them out I decided to snag the URL of some that I wanted to share before I started all over again. I hope you enjoy:

Watching movies with your kids…it’s a vicious cycle

Nothing is more satisfying to me, as a dad, than coming home after work and my son running up to greet me. It’s one of the things I look forward to every day. But when it comes to getting ready for bed time, I start to dread it. And I don’t mean the “settling him down part”. That’s easy. It’s the “watching a movie” part” I hate. Why, you ask? Well, it’s because it’s a vicious cycle that there is no end to. Don’t believe me? See the following sequence:

  1. You get excited over a new movie
  2. You begin quoting the movie
  3. You begin quoting the movie with the kids
  4. You use the movie as an analogy in real life situations…with other adults
  5. You begin humming the theme song
  6. You get a nervous twitch when the movie title is brought up
  7. You begin hiding the movie to “trick” the kid to watch something else…but he finds it anyway.
  8. You begin haggling with him to do any else but watch the movie again…so you buy a new movie.
  9. See number 1…

So parents I ask you. What would you do to break the cycle? Is there an end to it outside of the kids growing up? I’ll admit this post is just sarcasm, but it has some truth to it. When your kid starts watching the same movie over and over again and you buy another movie and begin again…how do you end it/cope with it? Inquiring minds want to know!

25 Favorited Tweets Part Três

Greetings readers! I know some of you may be a bit surprised to read a post not pertaining to 101 alternative uses for “random item”. Truth be told I really wanted to, but work just got busy and I really couldn’t get focused on writing a complete list. So instead of letting the blog go neglected for a week I’d do another “25 favorited tweets” post. I’ve done two in the past but haven’t really done any in a while. Some of them have been industry related (SEO & SMM) and some not. I’ve amassed over 200 or so favorite tweets and just picked 25 that haven’t been used. But enough rambling, here is my third set of 25 favorited tweets:

25 Favorited Tweets Part Deux

After the positive feedback from the first round of favorited tweets I figured why not do it again. I’ll admit this post did come a little faster than I thought it would, but hey when you’re getting good tweets you want to share them right? So without further ado, here are the next set of tweets:

25 Favorited Tweets

When Twitter first rolled out the favorite tweet feature I wasn’t really sure if I’d be using it or not. Mainly because I didn’t want to use the new version of Twitter, but thankfully Tweetdeck updated and allowed me to be able to favorite tweets without being able to use the web interface. Now if they could just let me view my favorites from the desktop application that’d be great. I like to think of the favorite tweet feature as a type of bookmarking. Any tweets I think I’d like to remember or reference at a later time I can just browse my favorite tweets and find what I’m looking for. So I’ve decided to share my favorite tweets, twenty-five at a time. Some of them are industry related, some of them aren’t. I hope you enjoy and consider following the tweeps whom did the original tweeting.
